Storms and Cross Stitch


March already! This year is flying by. The weather has been sort of Spring like lately, so that's nice. Lemon tree in the garden is starting to bloom, and the blossoms smell so sweet and lovely.

Progress on Turkey Bay


There's supposed to be a big storm tonight, it's already dark outside. Sorry if the pictures don't have the best lighting! 

I didn't work on this one as much as I would have liked, but I'm still pleased with what I was able to accomplish.

NOTE; The only thing that I accomplished this week was stitching the pilgrim. All of the other progress was made over November, when I decided to be in a Thanksgiving-ish mood, so I pulled this one out.

I just wasn't pleased with the way the pilgrim looked. The coverage wasn't as good as it could have been. So I frogged the pilgrim, this time stitching with three strands of 310 instead of two.

Trick or Treat Moon! 

Wow! This one really wants to be stitched!

Quilt Block Sampler

 It's been a while since I posted a free cross stitch chart, so here you go: Isn't it pretty? I designed this one a while ago, but never got around to posting it. I've noticed a lot of quilters have been getting in to cross stitch lately. Welcome to the cross stitch world! Maybe this chart will be stitched by quilters who like cross stitch, and cross stitchers who like quilting.  Some details about this chart: stitch count is 70w x 70h If you stitch it on 18 count aida, the dimensions will be approximately 3-3/4 inches (9.9cm) wide by 3-3/4 inches (9.9cm) high.  It uses 3 colors, all in DMC: Blanc, 996, 801 Link to the free PDF is here  Leave a comment below with your progress pics and any color changes you make!  Happy Stitching!

Secret Doors, a New Chart, and a Tree

How cool would it be to wander through your house, and make a detour to your secret reading nook, that's nestled behind your secret door?
