Digital Rain, Progress on a Band, and Shakespeare

Happy April everybody! They say that April showers bring May flowers, so let's hope that's true this year. It seems like April mostly brings me a bad case of allergies, but let's be optimists this year and say it will bring lots of lovely rain storms.  Don't you just love the sound of rain? I do. There's nothing quite like being in the middle of a rain storm, hearing the patter of the drops, and smelling that fresh, clean rain water smell. If we don't get calming spring showers, then I'll be forced to take drastic steps- digital rain. Have you seen this type of video before?  Isn't that just the most cozy looking stitching chair? And look, there's a nice lamp too. This video is very pleasant to have on in the background when you're stitching or reading. Over Christmas I read the Lord of the Rings books with this playing. Friday Update: Jack-O-Lantern Edition

Here I am! Well, I did it. As promised, here is my blog post for this week.  Progress has been made on J is for Jack-O-Lantern, but if I want a finish before the end of September (a tentative goal of mine) I'll need to spend a bit more time stitching everyday.  This is such a fun project. As you can tell from the leaf in the upper right hand corner, my strategy is to stitch the outline of the leaves first, then fill in with the lighter green.  See those yellow flowers? When I saw the called for floss I thought, "No way, that's going to look weird." But after stitching the flower at the bottom right, I was very pleased. Isn't it just super pretty?  After I finish this one, I'll still have Halloween coming up (pinning a lot on my September deadline!) so naturally I'll be picking up Halloween Moon again. The floss on that chart is so vivid, I'm sure you can see it from space.  What I've Been Watching I love history, especially pre King Jam...
