Sunny Days, a Frog Visitor and a Banquet

 Some good news and some bad news to start off with. Good news; it's sunny again so I can take photos in great lighting. Bad news; it's gotten hotter as it's gotten sunnier, to the tune of a 104 degree day. I'm melting.

Now let's ignore the melting blogger and turn our attention to my cross stitch progress. First up is the Mystery Sampler:

The dragon is really starting to appear! I would have quite a bit more of the dragon to show you, but unfortunately the frog came to visit... twice. And in the same part of the chart. It happens! Now we’ll zoom out and see the wider chart:

Next is Paris Market:

You can sort of distinguish the side of the building now. There is a mistake somewhere, but I think I can fudge. New plan for this week though. Instead of continuing up the building, I'm going to go to the bottom left, and start stitching in ten by ten blocks again. I really enjoyed stitching in ten by ten blocks when I was working on Nikolai (Russian Hunting by Riolis) and I think if I went back to that method it would be easier to follow the chart and I would make faster progress.

While I do have that book as a paper-back, I’m really enjoying reading with my Kindle. I can stay up late (as late as I can before I fall asleep face first into my pillow) and hear the owls hooting or the traffic driving past my window in the distance. If the weather stays as dark and gloomy as the weatherman says it will, then I foresee reading to the sound of thunder and rain as well. What’s not to like about that? Jane Austen Cross Stitch Patterns

In honor of this wonderful day, I will not only be watching Pride and Prejudice later (the 1995 BBC one) I’m also sharing a list of the Jane Austen, and Austen-ish cross stitch patterns that I’ve made. My Current Rotation

Cross Stitch Update  Today I'd like to introduce you to my rotation.   But first, let me explain how I choose what to stitch on everyday. I use a lottery system, mostly because I have a lot of wip's right now, and partly because I'm terrible at making decisions. I used to spend so much time agonizing over which one to stitch on. It also means that I spend a good amount of time on all of my wip's, not just the ones that are calling to me. I have gotten two  finishes since I started using this system at the beginning of the year.   I have seen some Flosstubers using an app, but my Mother and I thought that this would be much more fun after seeing Sitchin' Mommy use a similar system on her Flosstube channel for her Arbitrary August videos. The only day that I don't use the lottery is on Sunday. I stitch on whatever is calling to me on Sundays.   I used eight glass beads- the kind you buy at the dollar store- and labeled them A through H with a Sharpie. Then I...
