Weekly Cross Stitch Update #11

Missing a Project

I recently discovered a wip was missing from my cross stitch lineup. I use glass tokens and a tupperware to choose my next wip. Shake the container, and whatever I draw is the chosen wip of the week. But lately I've been thinking,"When am I going to stitch on Trick or Treat Moon?" I hadn't made a lottery token for him yet! Don't worry, I fixed it!

Then, when I went to my pdf reader app on my tablet, I couldn't find the chart for it. It was gone. You may remember that a while back, I cleaned up the files on that app and deleted files I didn't need any more. I had accidentally deleted the Chart for Contemporary Flag... and I guess that I also deleted the chart for my Moon as well.

Oops.

Shall we move on to my progress last week?

Progress on Linen & Threads Mystery Sampler

Made a nice amount of progress this week. It's always fun to see the color of the floss change without having to switch out the floss.

Here's what it looked like the last time you saw it:

Those motifs on the second band are so fun to stitch! Let's get a close up:

I feel very medieval when I work on this one.

Next in the Rotation is...

Drum roll, drum roll, drum roll...

Trick or Treat Moon!

Finally!(I wondered why it was taking so long to draw this one)

Black aida here I come! Hurray for Halloween in February!

Happy Stitching!

Fabric, Moving the Q-Snap, and Fall Beverages

Phone Stand Pillow In my last post, I mentioned making a phone stand pillow. My first step was deciding which fabric to use. After going on an expedition through the Castle's fabric room, I've decided on these prints: I want to make more than one phone stand. One for when I'm reading, stitching, watching TV, etc. While I probably (famous last words, haha) won't use all of these fabrics, I still have to decide who stays and who goes. More on that in my next post, so stay tuned. WIP Update Here's where I got to since last time: Medieval Menagerie by Fox and Rabbit Designs Behold! A finished phoenix! I'm very fond of this phoenix. Don't those feathers look magnificent? As an added bonus for finishing this first dazzling bird, I can move my Q-Snap, which is always a treat. It gives one such a great sense of accomplishment. As for my next steps, I'll start stitching the other phoenix and the remaining motifs in this band before I begin stitching the egg in...

Gloomy Weather Reading, Phoenixes, and a Promo Code

Photo by  Alessia Cocconi  on  Unsplash It’s a very stormy, overcast kind of day at the Castle as I write this post. It wouldn’t take much to make me think of books I love, but doesn’t a day that makes you stay inside just make you want to read? A few years ago, I read the Phantom of the Opera. While I had seen the Emmy Rossum movie adaptation, I had never read the book, so I didn’t know what to expect going into it, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was fantastic, and a real page-turner! While I do have that book as a paper-back, I’m really enjoying reading with my Kindle. I can stay up late (as late as I can before I fall asleep face first into my pillow) and hear the owls hooting or the traffic driving past my window in the distance. If the weather stays as dark and gloomy as the weatherman says it will, then I foresee reading to the sound of thunder and rain as well. What’s not to like about that? It would be absolutely unacceptable if I mentioned the Phantom ...
