Out in the garden, some of my plants have started to produce vegetables, while others have decided to just be and enjoy the Spring sunshine. With the exception of the last few days (which have been crisp, cool, dark, and rainy) the weather has been perfect for the plants to do a bit of sunbathing.

Speaking of sun and plants, here's my progress on Paris Market:

Lots of half stitches, and isn't that a pretty salmon pink? Bits of green and grey have started to appear too!

Sorry about the darkness of the pictures, but like I said, it’s been a dark, rainy kind of day.

Inspiration struck me recently, and I made a new chart for the shop. This was such a fun one to design:

I modeled it after vintage First Communion Holy cards and illustrations from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The backstitch at the top really gives it an interesting look, and the long-armed cross stitch at the bottom really adds some interest to the design. This chart is available as a digital download in my Etsy shop, if you'd like to stitch it.

I thought I liked gardens and landscapes, but “Capability” Brown sure did a lot more gardening than what I’ve done in my humble little backyard.

Gloomy Weather Reading, Phoenixes, and a Promo Code

It wouldn’t take much to make me think of books I love, but doesn’t a day that makes you stay inside just make you want to read? A few years ago, I read the Phantom of the Opera. While I had seen the Emmy Rossum movie adaptation, I had never read the book, so I didn’t know what to expect going into it, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was fantastic, and a real page-turner! While I do have that book as a paper-back, I’m really enjoying reading with my Kindle. I can stay up late (as late as I can before I fall asleep face first into my pillow) and hear the owls hooting or the traffic driving past my window in the distance. If the weather stays as dark and gloomy as the weatherman says it will, then I foresee reading to the sound of thunder and rain as well. What’s not to like about that? Jane Austen Cross Stitch Patterns

In honor of this wonderful day, I will not only be watching Pride and Prejudice later (the 1995 BBC one) I’m also sharing a list of the Jane Austen, and Austen-ish cross stitch patterns that I’ve made. Clouds, Feuds, and eBooks

Happy Monday! When you were a kid, did you ever go cloud-watching? By cloud-watching, I mean looking up at the sky, staring at the clouds, and thinking about what shape they look like. Spotting a cloud that looks like a puppy, or an elephant, or a skydiver for example. I used to do that all the time!
